The Visual Arts Program in the Department of Visual & Performing Arts at SC State University seeks a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses in Art History and Art Appreciation with knowledge of Art History and Aesthetics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include committee assignments, shared gallery management, departmental responsibilities, and university/community service. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular campus and workplace attendance schedule.
Teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to art history: ARTH 215 Art History Survey I, ARTH 216 Art History Survey II, ARTH 420 Modern and Contemporary Art History, ARTH African American Art History, and ART 250 Art appreciation courses.
The successful candidate will teach four courses each semester; actively participate in the Visual Arts Program unit and serve as academic advisor to assigned students.
Other responsibilities include Departmental, School/College, and University committee services. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential.
Minimum Requirements:
Doctorate in a related Field, with 3 years of teaching experience.
