The Biology Department at Trinity College (Hartford, CT) invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in fall 2027. We seek a broadly trained geneticist with a strong commitment to teaching a diverse student body and an active research program that incorporates undergraduate students. We welcome applicants across a broad range of subdisciplines including genomics, developmental, functional, and population genetics; as well as a wide range of organisms (e.g., Drosophila, Xenopus, Saccharomyces, etc.). We also look to hire someone that engages with students and colleagues across a broad liberal arts environment.
The teaching responsibilities include introductory biology, an intermediate-level course in genetics with a lab, and an advanced course in the candidate's area of expertise (such as cancer, cell, or developmental biology). Other teaching duties include non-majors science courses or first-year seminars. The teaching load is four courses per year for the first two years and five courses per year thereafter, with labs counting as full courses. The College offers a competitive salary and benefits, start-up funds, a one semester research leave every four years, summer support for undergraduate researchers, and travel funds to professional meetings.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology or relevant field, post-doctoral and teaching experience.
