Provides educational leadership, ensures a quality learning environment for all students, and plans, organizes, implements and assesses didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences as assigned within the vision, mission, values, and learning domains of the College.

Responsibilities: Teaching:

1. Demonstrates a current knowledge/skill set in area(s) of expertise; demonstrates mastery of teaching area
2. Participates in course development and evaluation
3. Serves as a faculty advisor to students and/or mentor to other faculty
4. Articulates a teaching philosophy
5. Demonstrates a mastery of current and relevant literature through incorporation of these materials into classroom work
6. Uses creative teaching strategies to help students develop critical thinking and analytic skills
   Scholarship:
7. Maintains teaching and/or clinical expertise by active engagement in the discipline
8. Shares expertise with colleagues
9. Engages in collaborative research or creative activity
   Service:
10. Contributes to two academic committees at the College; serves as a leader on one committee
11. Serves on as a volunteer on a local committee in a professional capacity
12. Serves as a leader on a college committee
13. Participates in student recruitment
14. Participates in quality improvement
15. Presents at workshops or programs at the local level

Qualifications:

Education: PhD in Biology, Chemistry, or Related Field

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $23.65per hour - $39.5per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
