    POSITION OVERVIEW

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The School of Nursing at the University of West Florida (UWF), Pensacola, Florida invites applications for two full-time, 12-month Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice positions (#127850 and #127920). We seek colleagues who are passionate about teaching the next generation of nurses in our rapidly growing onsite pre-licensure program. The salary for these in-person, non-tenure eligible positions will be commensurate with experience.

    The Bachelors of Science (BSN) and Masters of Science (MSN) programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), reflecting our commitment to high standards in nursing education.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Primarily be assigned to the pre-licensure nursing program and will teach in the classroom, and clinical settings on the Pensacola campus and at local community partner locations.
    • Use of technology in the classroom and online, and teaching students in a broad range of clinical settings that align with the faculty member's expertise.
    • This position may be assigned to teach in other School of Nursing programs as assigned or other areas the department needs direct.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Earned a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing from an accredited institution, or earned a doctorate (PhD, EdD) in a health-related field and a master's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
    • Holds an unrestricted Florida license as a Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida.
    • Three or more years work experience as a Registered Nurse in one of the following specialties: acute care, community health, or mental health nursing.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    Preferred Qualifications for this position include:

    • One or more years' experience teaching pre-licensure students in the classroom and clinical setting.
    • The ability to incorporate evidence-based teaching strategies for higher education into course delivery.
    • Familiarity with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials
    • Experience with curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate level.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the NCLEX test plan.

    • This position requires a criminal background screening.
    • This position requires licensure, certification, or other qualifications described in the Special Instructions.
