Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Westminster College Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Computer Science, to begin August 2027. We seek a dynamic and innovative teacher -scholar who is committed to excellence in undergraduate education and student -centered learning. Responsibilities: • Teach three courses per semester (in person) in a broad range of courses in the computer science program, the College's core curriculum, and the first -year program. • Maintain and expand our current offerings in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. • Maintain an active program of scholarship that engages undergraduate students. • Advise and mentor undergraduate students pursuing computer science majors, minors, and interdisciplinary programs. • Participate in service to the department, college, and broader academic community. Qualifications: • Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with expertise in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning by August 2027. • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and inclusivity in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting. • Evidence of scholarly productivity and potential for research with undergraduate students. • Given the current political and fiscal climate, Westminster College does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visas at this time .
