The School of Business at SUNY Geneseo is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Data Analytics to begin August 2025.

Position Summary ----------------

The School of Business at SUNY Geneseo is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Data Analytics to begin August 2025. Duties of the position include teaching three 3-credit courses each semester at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Courses may include Introduction to Data Analytics Programming in R or Python, Business Analytics, Advanced Data Analytics, Database Systems & SQL, and other courses that align with the facultys academic preparation and professional experience and meet the evolving needs of business programs. Collaborating with the other faculty members to update existing courses and develop new courses to improve data analytics and other programs offered by the school. Contributing to the field through published scholarship consistent with the AACSB qualification of Scholarly Academics. Engaging with students and the local community through experiential learning, service learning, and extracurricular activities. Providing services to students, the School of Business, the College, and the profession.

Required Qualifications ----------------------

A doctoral degree in economics, management science, data analytics, or related fields from an accredited institution.

Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching undergraduate data analytics or quantitative analysis courses.

Strong programming skills in R, Python, and SQL.

Demonstrated proficiency using online learning platforms and other educational technologies for online teaching.

Scholarly potential demonstrated by peer-reviewed journal article publications or high-quality conference papers.

Strong work ethic, commitment to continuous improvement, and ability to teach students with diverse backgrounds.

Candidates for this position must be legally allowed to work in the United States. VISA sponsorship will not be offered.

Preferred Qualifications ----------------------

Peer-reviewed journal publications in high-quality business or economics journals.

Experience in teaching graduate courses.

Experience in providing academic and career advice to students.

Experience in coordinating and developing curricular and co-curricular programs.

Experience in serving on departmental, school, or college committees.

Professional work experience in data analytics fields.
