Position Overview

Assistant Professor of Elementary Education for Eastern New Mexico Univ. to work at our Portales, NM location. Evening or weekend course hours may be required.

Teach undergraduate/graduate elementary/special education courses in various formats, such face-to-face, lecture capture, and/or online. Develop and revise appropriate content for courses to meet expectations of various accrediting bodies and stakeholders. Assure, as a faculty member, student success on required licensure exams. Establish and maintain relationships with agencies for field placements and work collaboratively with the Teacher Education Office and other faculty as appropriate to establish placements and placement protocols. Report, use, analyze, and synthesize data for program planning with program (elementary/special education) and department faculty. Maintain regular office hours to advise and assist students in a professional manner. Attend departmental and university faculty meetings and external meetings as required. Maintain engagement in publishing and presenting scholarly works pursuant to the field. Provide appropriate service to the profession and University. Other duties as assigned.

Must have Ph.D. (ABD) in Elementary Education or closely related field and 3 yrs K-8 teaching experience.
