Missouri Valley College invites applications for a faculty member for the Exercise Science program under School of Nursing & Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences. This position is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position.

The Exercise Science Faculty member is responsible for academic advising and teaching in the classroom, laboratory, and other applied learning environments while fostering a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages active student participation, self-direction, and professional development.

This individual should demonstrate the ability to engage in scholarly activity, applied research, and professional practice, and should encourage students to participate in research, experiential learning, and other scholarly or professional development opportunities relevant to the field of exercise science.

The faculty member is responsible for contributing to the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of curriculum to ensure students are well prepared for careers and advanced study in exercise science and related health and performance professions. Responsibilities may include participation in program assessment, curriculum review, and alignment with current professional standards within the discipline.

The position requires strong technological skills, effective communication, and collaborative ability, as well as the capacity to work productively with faculty colleagues, diverse student populations, and community or industry partners involved in health, fitness, and human performance.

The Exercise Science Faculty member must demonstrate the knowledge and professional expertise necessary to support program quality and compliance with institutional expectations and any applicable professional standards. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean of Health Sciences.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree required; terminal degree preferred.
  • Exercise science certifications are preferred (i.e. CSCS, ATC, CEP, CPT, CES, PES).
  • Prior experience in higher education is preferred.
