    Job Description

    The Faculty of Nursing at Carthage College is responsible for didactic and clinical teaching in the department's nursing programs, maintaining competence in an area of nursing practice, and providing service to the College and the community.

    Duties:

    1. Assists nursing leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and revising the nursing curriculum, ensuring a relevant and cutting-edge curriculum.
    2. Teach courses as negotiated with nursing leadership. Teaching load equals 32 credit hours over 9 months.
    3. Makes recommendations to the team that support and enhance quality learning experiences for nursing students.
    4. Maintains area of clinical competence.
    5. Attends all faculty, divisional, and department meetings in person.
    6. Serves on departmental, divisional, and college committees.
    7. Holds 5 hours of in-person office hours on campus weekly for students.
    8. Engages in relevant community partnerships consistent with, support, and advance the College and department's mission.
    9. Additional relevant duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Master's degree in nursing required.
    2. Holds a valid, unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in Wisconsin or eligible to obtain a Wisconsin license. Licensure in Illinois may be required.
    3. Experience teaching in a pre-licensure nursing program or coursework in nursing education principles and techniques preferred.
    4. Knowledge of teaching-learning principles.
    5. Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
    6. Evidence of current clinical expertise.
    7. Certification (or eligibility for certification) in nursing specialty is desirable.
