August 2026Capital University seeks a passionate science educator with specialization in the areas of Human Anatomy and Vertebrate Physiology with emphasis on Evolution, for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences beginning as early as January 2027.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach across the science curriculum and use evidence-based teaching techniques and methods to support university and department learning goals. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses, including Foundations of Biology (BIOL 151 & 152), Human A&P (BIOL 231 & 232), Vertebrate Physiology (BIOL 334), upper-level biological electives and laboratory courses for STEM majors, and courses in the University's Signature Learning (General Education) program. Emphasis on Evolution in the Biological Science curriculum preferred. Qualified candidates will preferably have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of excellence in high-quality teaching and preference will be given to applicants that incorporate evidence-based teaching practices in their classrooms.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across the university curriculum, participate in departmental and campus service, and further contribute to an undergraduate student-centered research program as well as other High Impact Practices in higher education. Capital University is committed to increasing the diversity of the Capital community and curriculum.
