    Position Summary

    The Department of Psychology at UNC Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track position in Social Psychology (Assistant Professor) to begin August 1, 2027.

    We seek someone to join an active and collaborative department. The Department of Psychology consists of 28 full-time faculty and offers a BA and BS in psychology, including Disciplinary Honors, an MA in experimental psychology, and a PhD in clinical, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology (see https://psy.uncg.edu/ for more information).

    The doctoral program in Social Psychology consists of four faculty who provide individualized training in research and statistical methods. We have ongoing expertise on topics such as close relationships, social cognition, social perception, motivation, self and identity, and aesthetics/creativity.

    We welcome applications from any area of social/personality psychology. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in both of the following topics: health/well-being and social cognition. More specifically, we seek scholars who study how people think, reason, and make health-related decisions as well as decisions that may more broadly affect their environments and social worlds. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute coursework and research experiences to an interdisciplinary BA in Health, Medicine, and Society (HMS).

    All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, potential for external funding, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and potential for excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching. Candidates must hold or anticipate a PhD in psychology or a related field by August 1, 2027.
