JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Program Director will need to possess good written and oral English communication skills; ability to work as a member of a team, to maintain appropriate boundaries while working in close inter-personal relationships; ability to learn and apply principles of social rehabilitation. The incumbent should have knowledge of community resources desirable; have strong organizational skills, adaptability, be empathic and relate effectively with clients, other staff, professionals and members of the community.

COMPENSATION
$36.16 - $50.65 per hour. Nonexempt; 40 hours/week; Eligible for overtime. Compensation based on education and experience.
REPORTS TO
Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA and two years' experience working with adults with serious mental illness or with substance abuse problems in a social rehabilitation program or experience in a related field.
Excellent English oral and written communication skills; strong clinical skills, and ability to work with a culturally diverse team; knowledge of community resources.
Drivers license for at least two years and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier.
Valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance; good driving record; criminal record clearance; proof of authorization to work in the United States as required by Immigration and Reform Act of 1986. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to: operate a motor vehicle; climb stairs; possess good communication skills; meet the requirements of the classification and have mobility, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties to be performed. Capable of the following extended activities: walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs. Capable of the following intermittent activities: stooping, kneeling, lifting 25 pounds or more and bending in the performance of infrequently performed office duties.
