Vision Point Systems is seeking an Assistant Program Manager (APM) to support the overall planning, execution and oversight of Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock Division’s Platform Integrity Department’s programs. This position will support the growth and execution of state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN.

The APM will assist the VPS senior program manager and government managers and technical subject matter experts with schedule management, financial tracking, risk management, stakeholder coordination, and program deliverables to ensure successful program execution in support of mission requirements. Strong candidates will have robust organizational and planning skills, including strong project management fundamentals, are highly self-motivated and creative thinkers, and are able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders such as engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, contracts, construction, and academic partners to ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Development and maintenance of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), milestones, and action item tracking.
  • Assist with coordinating program reviews, technical meetings, and sponsor briefings, and other stakeholder engagements.
  • Monitor program performance, deliverables, funding status, and task execution.
  • Support budget tracking, labor forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and financial reporting activities.
  • Prepare status reports, executive summaries, meeting minutes, and briefing materials for government leadership.
  • Track program risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders such as engineering, logistics, cybersecurity, contracts, and academic partners to ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Navy and DoD/DoW policies and procedures.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide responsive support to government stakeholders.
  • Other programmatic duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or related field.
  • At least 3–6 years of program management, project management, engineering management, or defense contracting experience.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of program/project management concepts and tools (e.g., schedules, trackers, budgets, action items).
  • Must be familiar with financial tracking such as budgets, spend plans, and earned value management.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work independently and highly motivated.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project or Planner, and Teams)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance. Requires US citizenship.
  • This role may require at least monthly commute to West Bethesda, MD and Memphis, TN.

Desired Skills

  • Current Secret level security clearance is a plus.
  • Experience supporting DoD/DoW/US Navy programs preferred.
  • Experience/understanding of materials/metallurgy is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with construction projects is a plus.
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred but not required.
