Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive.  We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in:  Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 72,000 individuals and families each year at our 100 locations, including 10,000 youth.  CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

PROGRAM: Since 1991, CAMBA has been addressing the City’s housing crisis and today this portfolio includes permanent affordable and supportive housing, homelessness prevention, housing relocation, emergency and transitional housing. In response to a pressing need for permanent, stable and affordable housing for New York City residents, CAMBA created an affiliated non-profit affordable housing development corporation in 2005 called CAMBA Housing Ventures, Inc. (CHV). CHV envisions diverse, thriving communities where affordable housing plays a transformative role in the success of low-income individuals and families. CHV’s mission is to elevate the definition of affordable and supportive housing by creating and preserving sustainable, high-quality, and energy-efficient developments that provide residents with a healthy, stabilizing, and beautiful home. Position: Assistant Project Manager

Reports To: Chief Administrative Office

Location: New York NY 10004

What The Assistant Project Manager Does:

• Assist project management staff in the management and coordination of planning processes for pre-development of new and rehabilitated multi-family affordable and housing projects, such as acquisition/site control, financing and design development.
•  Assist and participate in the development and implementation of community engagement strategies to secure required approvals for various projects.
• Assist project management staff to manage and coordinate architects and consultants, as appropriate, to assist in the complete\ion of the design and site investigation phases.
• Assist in the transition from the construction phase to operations, including assisting to complete lease-up, stabilization and conversion in conjunction with CHV’s operations team and third party property manager.
• Assist in maintaining productive relationships with all members of project development teams.
• Assist in preparation of applications to public and private funding sources including grant writing for capacity building.
• Assist in the development of marketing and informational materials for specific housing development projects with Creative Director. Ensure that public information regarding specific projects is consistent, accurate and maintained during all phases and ensure that project information is appropriate for public distribution as directed by SVP/CAO.
• Prepare, review and submit reports and demographic and statistical information for senior management and project use.
• Confer with the appropriate Senior Vice-President/Chief Administrative Officer and/or other CAMBA/CHV Management/Executive Staff as needed regarding programmatic and personnel issues.
• Represent CAMBA/CAMBA Housing Ventures at funder/outside agency/community meetings as requested.
• Immediately report to the appropriate Senior Vice-President/Chief Administrative Officer any: monitoring visits or funders’ events; significant events; any incident that might subject CHV/CAMBA to liability.
• Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time.
• Knowledge of most aspects of general real estate development.
• Self-motivated and proactive with an established track record of accomplishing tasks effectively and independently.
• Familiarity with local, state, federal and private housing development & finance programs. Working knowledge of local housing markets and conditions.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in various computer software systems (Dropbox) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point).
• Other administrative duties as assigned, to support CHV projects and agency.
• Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time.
• Maintain confidentiality for all aspects of project and CHV activities.
• Comply with any and all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.

Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.).Experience with New York City and New York State affordable housing programs preferred.

Compensation: $95,000 annually 

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
