Muecke is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support multiple construction projects in both office and field environments.
This position is designed for someone who wants to grow into greater project-management responsibility while gaining hands-on experience with project coordination, communication, scheduling, submittals, drawings, material ordering, and jobsite support.
The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the lead project manager and help keep projects organized, information moving, and field and office responsibilities aligned.
The right candidate will be comfortable communicating with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, laborers, and internal team members. This role requires strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
What You'll Do
- Support the lead project manager across multiple active construction projects
- Work in both office and field environments
- Assist with day-to-day project coordination and jobsite responsibilities
- Communicate with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and laborers
- Help organize project information, drawings, documents, and correspondence
- Assist with material and supply orders
- Track project needs and follow up on outstanding items
- Coordinate and maintain project submittals
- Review, organize, and distribute project drawings
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of project schedules
- Help communicate schedule updates and project requirements
- Support coordination between field teams, subcontractors, and project leadership
- Attend project meetings and site visits as needed
- Document project updates, questions, decisions, and action items
- Help identify potential scheduling, communication, or coordination issues
- Follow up with responsible parties to keep projects moving
- Support project closeout and other administrative needs as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, project coordination, administration, or a related role
- Interest in developing a long-term career in construction project management
- Comfortable working in both office and jobsite environments
- Ability to support several projects and priorities at the same time
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to communicate professionally with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to work independently while supporting a lead project manager
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email
- Ability to learn construction processes, terminology, documentation, and technology
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Construction Administrator, or Project Engineer
- Experience with residential or light commercial construction
- Familiarity with construction drawings, submittals, schedules, and material orders
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, or field personnel
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and jobsite operations
- Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is $20-$30 per hour, based on construction experience, administrative ability, technical skills, communication, and overall fit.
Candidates with direct construction project coordination experience may qualify toward the higher end of the range. Candidates with strong transferable skills and the ability to learn may be considered at a level appropriate to their experience.
