Assistant Project Manager – Electrical Construction
Location: Portland, OR

Summary: A well-established electrical contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of complex commercial and industrial electrical projects throughout the Portland area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team known for delivering high-quality work across healthcare, industrial, technology, education, manufacturing, and mission critical facilities.

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and field leadership, you'll play a key role in coordinating project documentation, tracking budgets and schedules, supporting subcontractor and vendor coordination, and helping projects move from preconstruction through closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of electrical construction projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Support project scheduling, procurement, and material tracking.
  • Monitor project budgets, billings, and cost reporting.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Help prepare closeout documents, as-builts, O&M manuals, and turnover packages.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate project updates with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist Project Managers with problem-solving, project planning, and maintaining quality, safety, and schedule objectives.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience supporting electrical construction projects.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, or mission critical facilities preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with RFIs, submittals, change orders, project scheduling, and document control.
  • Experience with project management software such as Viewpoint, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Estimating experience or an electrical license is a plus but not required.
