Talon Hiring Solutions has a client that is looking for an Assistant Project Manager. You will be working with the on-site project team, working closely with the Project Manager to support day-to-day construction activities. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how projects are planned, managed, built, and successfully closed out, while developing the skills needed to advance into an Assistant Project Manager II and eventually a Project Manager role.

Travel and relocation are required. APM Is may be assigned to projects anywhere in the lower 48 states and may relocate as project assignments change.
Work will be split between the office and active construction job sites.
What you will do:
Support the Project Manager with daily project coordination and documentation.
Maintain accurate project files, daily logs, meeting minutes, RFI and submittal logs, and other project records.
Assist with RFIs, submittals, change order documentation, and project closeout.
Help maintain safety records, inspections, toolbox talks, training logs, and monthly safety reports.
Review routine project documents and flag discrepancies involving drawings, quantities, deliveries, or other project information.
Communicate professionally with owners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
Track assigned tasks, provide status updates, and follow through on commitments.
Help keep project information organized and up to date in company systems.
Learn and apply construction terminology, company procedures, and project management best practices.
Use Microsoft Office and construction/project management software to accurately enter and manage information.
Participate in project meetings, training, and other opportunities to develop your construction knowledge.
Work both in the office and on active construction job sites as project assignments require.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or a related field, completed or expected within 6 months.
1–4 years of construction experience, including internships, co-ops, or field experience.
Basic ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and follow-through.
Ability to learn quickly, ask questions, and work effectively under the direction of a Project Manager.
Professional and collaborative approach when working with project teams and external partners.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Primavera P6, or similar construction software.
General contractor internship or field experience.
Exposure to RFIs, submittals, daily reports, estimating, or other project documentation.
