Assistant Project Manager

Position Responsibilities

• Support project management during the design phase by overseeing design consultants and ensuring compliance with contract documents.
• Assist in inspections and quality control/assurance activities through project closeout.
• Collaborate with the Resident Engineer and support project coordination by attending meetings and following up on action items.
• Monitor job site safety and prepare necessary reports and documentation.
• Assist with project budgets, schedules, and construction activities.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Project Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or an Associate's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum four years of project management experience, including supervisory experience on large construction projects.
• 30-hour OSHA Certification and 8-hour Lead Awareness Course required.
• Completion of one-day Client Track Safety Training before participating in projects.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
• Experience with CADD is desirable.
• Knowledge of capital construction procedures and field operations.
• Experience with construction scheduling and estimating.

Work Schedule

• Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
• 50% technical and 50% administrative responsibilities.
• 80% field and 20% office work.
• Right-of-way access required.
