An established and growing environmental and construction services firm is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of complex Federal, State, Municipal, and Commercial construction projects. What You'll Do

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll play a key role in helping deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while supporting every phase of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, executing, and closing construction projects.

  • Coordinate daily project activities with field personnel, subcontractors, clients, engineers, and consultants.

  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, and cost control activities.

  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, estimates, and project documentation.

  • Assist with contract administration, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project reporting.

  • Monitor project costs, productivity, and schedules to help ensure successful project execution.

  • Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.

  • Help identify project risks and develop proactive solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, contractual, and company safety and quality standards.

  • Build and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence across assigned projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • 5+ years of construction management, estimating, field engineering, or project coordination experience.

  • Strong experience supporting Federal Government construction projects is required.

  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal construction contracts and procurement processes.

  • Experience with project scheduling, estimating, budgeting, contract administration, and change order management.

  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, project controls, and field operations.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership potential with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting projects for USACE, NAVFAC, DoD, GSA, VA, or other Federal Government agencies.

  • Environmental remediation, heavy civil, infrastructure, industrial, or specialty construction experience.

  • Experience working with self-perform crews and subcontractors.

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and government contracting requirements.

Work Environment

This position is primarily field-based and requires regular travel to active construction sites throughout the region.

  • Frequent work on active construction sites.

  • Regional travel required based on project assignments.

  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Required use of appropriate PPE while on project sites.

  • Occasional extended hours may be necessary to support project schedules and project milestones.
