Role: Assistant Project Manager (Utility Construction)
Location: 3001 Leonard Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383 (Hybrid)
Schedule: Tuesday–Thursday onsite, Monday & Friday remote (additional onsite days may be required based on project needs)

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale utility construction projects. In this role, you will work alongside the Project Manager and Construction Program Management team to coordinate project activities, monitor schedules and budgets, prepare reports, and ensure successful project execution from planning through completion.
Candidates with utility construction experience are highly preferred, with gas utility experience being a strong advantage.
Assist the Project Manager with planning, coordinating, and executing utility construction projects.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and overall project performance.
Prepare project reports, including weekend coverage reports and project accrual reports.
Provide technical and IT support to the Construction Coordinator team.
Assist in developing project policies, procedures, and training documentation.
Coordinate project resources, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Support project risk management, cost management, procurement, scheduling, and quality initiatives.
Maintain accurate project documentation within Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company project management standards.
Support effective communication between project teams, contractors, and business stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 2+ years of technical/project experience, OR
5+ years of project, engineering, construction, or technical experience.

Experience supporting construction or utility projects.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
Experience with project scheduling, cost tracking, project controls, and risk management.
Experience using Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and meet project deadlines.
Valid Driver's License.
Gas utility industry experience.
Utility construction or energy industry experience.
Experience supporting capital construction projects.
Hybrid work schedule (Tuesday–Thursday onsite; Monday & Friday remote).
Additional onsite work may be required depending on project workload.
Ability to work in construction environments with high noise, dust, confined spaces, varying temperatures, and other field conditions when required.
