The Assistant Liaison role is a learning-focused position designed to build an understanding of the day-to-day operations of co-op properties. This role supports the coordination of key functions such as leasing, maintenance, finance, and facilities to help ensure smooth and effective operations. Assistant Liaisons develop skills in building professional relationships with resident-members, supporting volunteer engagement, and understanding the co-op system. The position also contributes to departmental goals through administrative support, hands-on experience, and special projects under the guidance of senior staff.
Essential Functions
Attain knowledge of the full spectrum of responsibilities and day-to-day tasks involved with property management.
Gain experience in financial analysis and value creation at the asset level.
Understand and help educate members on HUD, Fair Housing laws, and CSI procedures.
Work closely with the leasing committee to manage the waitlist and vacancies.
Working directly with liaisons by:
Ensuring high-quality customer service and maintaining positive resident-member relationships by providing timely information to resident-members and effectively addressing their questions, concerns, and complaints.
Promoting volunteer engagement and providing ongoing support within our unique cooperative management system.
Supporting administrative and clerical duties.
Maintaining and storing documentation effectively.
General inspections.
Non-payment notices and follow-up
Assist with other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Assistant liaisons may be responsible for supervising onsite personnel at co-op locations, including monitoring daily work activities and hours worked.
Work Environment
Assistant liaisons generally work in an office environment and in the local co-op apartment buildings they are serving.
Physical Demands
This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and a significant amount of time on the phone.
