Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of a commercial property portfolio in Jamaica, Queens. This long-term opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented property management professional with hands-on Yardi experience who enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with on-site property operations.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $30/hr - $33/hr
Position Overview: The Assistant Property Manager will provide both administrative and operational support to the Property Management team. This role will assist with financial administration, tenant and vendor communications, inspections, contract coordination, and property operations. The ideal candidate has prior commercial property management experience, is highly organized, and is comfortable working both in the office and throughout the property portfolio. A reliable personal vehicle is required to travel between nearby properties as business needs arise.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Property Manager:- Process invoice coding using Yardi and support purchase-to-pay (P2P) processes.
- Prepare move-out documentation, rent adjustments, approval forms, and related administrative paperwork.
- Coordinate vendor contracts, renewals, and contract tracking.
- Review accounts receivable reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Communicate professionally with tenants, vendors, and third-party service providers.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial data entry, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Coordinate violation documentation and corrective action follow-up.
- Conduct routine property inspections and tenant move-out walkthroughs.
- Participate in vendor walkthroughs, project coordination, and bid solicitation.
- Take property photos for quarterly reporting and presentations.
- Assist with emergency preparedness, pre-storm notifications, post-storm inspections, and operational response.
- Support additional administrative and property management projects as assigned.
Required Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager:- Previous Assistant Property Manager or Commercial Property Management experience required.
- Hands-on Yardi experience is required.
- Experience with invoice processing, accounts receivable, contract administration, and vendor coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle to travel between properties when needed.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assistant Property Manager:- Experience supporting commercial office, retail, or mixed-use properties.
- Familiarity with budget preparation, financial reconciliations, and property reporting.
- Experience coordinating inspections, tenant relations, and vendor management.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree preferred.
