Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a multifamily portfolio in New York City. This individual will report directly to the Senior Property Manager and collaborate directly with ownership and operational partners to ensure efficient property performance, resident satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience within NYC multifamily real estate, including exposure to tenant relations, building operations, compliance management, vendor coordination, leasing renewals, and financial oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations of assigned multifamily properties, ensuring a high level of tenant service and operational efficiency

  • Assist in managing tenant relations, communications, and issue resolution

  • Coordinate and oversee building staff, including maintenance, leasing, and administrative personnel

  • Monitor preventative maintenance programs, capital improvement projects, and vendor performance

  • Review and track building compliance matters, including DOB, ECB, FDNY, and HPD violations

  • Ensure timely submission of required compliance documentation and corrective actions

  • Conduct move-in and move-out inspections and routine property inspections

  • Coordinate and supervise completion of work orders and tenant access requests

  • Assist with lease renewals, vacancy leasing efforts, and resident retention initiatives

  • Prepare written tenant correspondence and support resident communications

  • Manage vendor invoices, payables, and service contract administration

  • Prepare and review budgeting, expense tracking, and P&L to help drive property performance

  • Maintain accurate records and reporting within property management systems

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of multifamily property management experience within New York City, multisite experience preferred

  • Understanding of NYC real estate operations, compliance requirements, and local housing regulations

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and follow-through skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, and Yardi

  • NY Real Estate Salesperson License is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

$65,000 - $80,000 a year

Compensation range: $65,000-$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience
