Assistant Property Manager Public Housing
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join a large housing management organization in Akron, Ohio. This position is ideal for candidates who have property/housing and clerical experience and are eager to support community living.
In this role, you will assist the Property or Housing Manager with the daily operations of the housing development. You'll handle record keeping, data collection, bookkeeping, lease management, move-ins and move-outs, inspections, maintaining housing policies, and fostering positive tenant relations. Hours
MondayFriday, 8:00AM4:30PM
Pay
$20.00+/hour, based on experience
Key Responsibilities
Assist with managing leasing, unit turnover, rent collection, lease enforcement, and resident relations
Respond to inquiries from tenants and the public, providing accurate information
Perform clerical and bookkeeping duties as directed by the Housing Manager
Maintain lease records, billing, and delinquent rent accounts
Keep tenant ledgers updated on the computer, perform routine calculations for balances, refunds, rent charges, and repair costs
Type eviction notices and other communications to tenants
Maintain and generate account reports (e.g., vacancy, delinquency) for staff use
Post vacancy data to help maintain occupancy rates
Prepare payroll and verify confidential information
Enter data and generate reports as needed
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of clerical experience with basic bookkeeping knowledge
Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment
Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
Strong customer service skills
Valid Ohio Drivers License and insurability
Nice to Have Skills
Experience in public housing management
Knowledge of HUD regulations, fair housing laws, landlord/tenant laws, and property management best practices
Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; additional property management training is a plus
