J&D Management is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to join our growing team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily property operations while serving as a liaison between tenants and management.

Position Overview


As an Assistant Property Manager, you will work closely with the Property Manager to learn and support all aspects of property management, including administrative, operational, leasing, and financial responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within the property management industry while developing a diverse and valuable skill set.


Responsibilities


  • Assist the Property Manager with daily property operations

  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and prospective tenants

  • Respond promptly to tenant communications via phone, email, text, and chat

  • Conduct regular inspections of common areas, apartment units, and grounds

  • Collect rent payments and follow up on delinquent accounts

  • Distribute non-payment notices and assist with eviction-related procedures

  • Maintain accurate resident files, leases, and property records

  • Input daily property activity including move-ins, move-outs, and resident updates

  • Assist with purchase orders, invoices, and financial reporting

  • Support leasing and marketing efforts

  • Maintain knowledge of local market trends and competing properties

  • Assist with resident renewals and retention efforts

  • Handle resident service requests and concerns professionally

  • Prepare move-out accounting, dispositions, refunds, and disputes in compliance with local and state laws

  • Recommend operational improvements to management

  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and company policies

  • Represent J&D Management professionally at all times

Qualifications


Education


  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • College degree or equivalent preferred

Experience


  • 1–3 years of related property management, leasing, or customer service experience preferred
  • Real estate license is a plus
