THE POSITION
The City of Carson is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Recreation Center Supervisor (Part-Time):
Come join the Community Services department and help create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment for residents of all ages. The Recreation Center Assistant supports the daily operations of a community recreation center by coordinating programs, supervising activities, and creating positive recreational experiences that strengthen community connections.
Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking a candidate who is organized, community-focused, and passionate about recreation and public service. The ideal candidate enjoys working with diverse populations, collaborating with staff and neighborhood partners, and developing programs that promote wellness, teamwork, and inclusion. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills to supervise activities, ensure participant safety, support staff and volunteers, and assist with events, leagues, and special programs. The position plays an important role in maintaining a safe and active recreation environment while helping deliver high-quality services that enhance the quality of life for the community.
Position Schedule
Schedule may vary between Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM-9:00 PM & Saturday-Sunday, 12:00 PM-5:00 PM. Weekends are a requirement in this role.

Under general supervision, assists in the supervision and operation of a community recreation center; and to perform related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(These functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.)
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience:
Any combination equivalent to two (2) years of college courses in recreation or related field and three (3) years of experience in recreation. Full time paid experience in recreation may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Possession of a valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate is desirable.
