Position Title: Assistant Registrar for Operations and Student ServicesPosition Number: 000393Position Type: StaffFTE: 1.000Job Open Date: 05/13/2026Compensation: $59,205 - $60,000Position SummaryThe Assistant Registrar for Operations and Student Services works closely with the Senior Assistant Registrar to manage academic records, oversee front desk and degree clearance operations, and lead a team of full‑time and part‑time staff. The role focuses on delivering exceptional student, faculty, and staff support while ensuring the highest quality in service and recordkeeping.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and coach front desk and degree clearance staff, ensuring timely and accurate certification of student graduations.Manage schedule and master production calendars for each awarding cycle, collaborating with the Associate Registrar for Policy and Operations.Serve as the primary front desk staff manager, providing consistent coverage and direct support to students, faculty, and visitors.Ensure accurate banner data alignment, oversee degree clearance processes, and assist with curriculum modification requests and data processing related to degree conferral.Lead and mentor the team, fostering collaboration, developing training programs, addressing conflict, and recommending process improvements to enhance service quality.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsRelevant post‑baccalaureate degree required. For candidates with a comparable undergraduate degree and substantial relevant experience in student support functions, an undergraduate degree may be accepted in lieu of a graduate degree.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited college or university and at least three years of experience in a registrar's office.Demonstrated expertise with student and academic records, including FERPA compliance.Experience working collaboratively with a wide range of individuals in a large, complex academic environment.Knowledge of higher‑education issues and the profession.Passion for enhancing the student and faculty experience.Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards in record‑keeping and service delivery.Adaptability and willingness to adopt new technologies and procedures to improve efficiency.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service.Clear and accurate communication of processes and procedures.Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Knowledge of student information systems such as Ellucian Banner, National Student Clearinghouse, Leapfrog CourseLeaf, Degree Audit, and experience with decentralized university systems is preferred.LocationUNC Greensboro, North Carolina#J-18808-Ljbffr
