Job Summary:
The Assistant Regulatory Compliance Officer will support the duties of the Regulatory Compliance Officer (RCO) in enforcing and providing guidance on compliance with pertinent fraud and abuse laws and regulations that apply to all employees of the organization. Knowledge base must include a deep understanding of CMS (Medicare/Medicaid) regulations, fraud and abuse laws (Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, Civil Monetary Penalties, Fraud and Abuse, etc.), accreditation standards, and New York State Education Department/Office of Professions rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field
- Minimum of 3 years relevant healthcare related experience
- Previous progressive responsible leadership experience
- Experience with healthcare regulatory compliance activities
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of pertinent state and federal rules and regulations applicable to a healthcare organization in an academic medical center, including but not limited to, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, Civil Monetary Penalties, Fraud and Abuse, etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite and experience with preparation of effective educational presentations and reports preferred
- Board certification (CHC) by HCCB in Compliance, Coding certification by AHIMA or AAPC,
- Previous experience in third-party audit reviews preferred.
