The Program extends the BART system from the Berryessa Station in north San Jose, through downtown San Jose, to Santa Clara University. This landmark project is a six‑mile, four‑station extension linking the Phase I terminus at the Berryessa/North San Jose BART station to the Santa Clara Station in Santa Clara. BSVII will include a 54‑foot single‑bore tunnel, three underground stations, one at‑grade station, and a maintenance facility.Job SummaryThe Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) – Cost Verification is responsible for managing, coordinating, and overseeing all field‑based cost verification activities, ensuring that contractor costs claimed as reimbursable are accurately validated, fully substantiated, contract‑compliant, and auditable.The ARE leads a team of Field Engineers and serves as the primary interface between field cost capture, contract administration, and project controls, ensuring that:Field data is accurate, complete, and traceableCosts claimed are allowable under the price and payment provisionsPayment applications are supported by verified evidenceThe ARE plays a critical role in the Cost Verification and Payment Review (CVPR) process, supporting progress payment certification, cost control, and audit readiness.
