Job Title: ASSISTANT RESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR
Department: Residential
Position Overview: Support all residential program departments in all facets of community inclusion/integration and programmatic supports and services.
Essential Job Functions:
- The Assistant Residential Director will assist administration in supporting and serving all Athelas Residential Program participants
- Works in conjunction with the Director to develop, sustain and create growth in Residential programs
- Participates and supports the agency with residential services, strategic plans, alliances and partnerships
- Provides, creates, and develops guidance and trainings.
- Responsible for department admissions and evaluations
- Oversees all plan of corrections from regulatory agencies. Works closely with Quality Supports Department to ensure the implementation of POC's.
- Conducts department quality inspections to ensure residential site is in compliance with policy and State and Federal regulations. This will include books and paperwork.
- Attend agency meetings, to include Annual, Review Committee and Division Directors
- May act as chair of departmental meetings.
- Supervises Operation Managers on interviewing, vacancies and scheduling
- Maintains routine or as needed contact with individuals, significant family members or legal guardians.
- Keeps department director informed of any situations/conditions, which may threaten the health and safety of individuals.
- Maintain communications between the main office, houses, outside contacts and day programs regarding all aspects of policy and people supported affairs
- Complete performance evaluations
- Review and submit payroll
- Maintain cell phone contact 24 hours a day
- Keep Division Director up to date on any health and safety concerns
- Position may require some evening and weekend work. Hours may vary.
- Complete all state and agency required documentation in accordance with stated guidelines and deadlines.
- Maintains positive, professional working relationships
- Obtain and maintain Medication Administration Certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing.
- Administer and document medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements. All medication is completed through an eMAR. Medication administration follows the DDA nursing delegation model.
- Complete all required and assigned trainings. CPR / First Aid, Mandt Systems, medication technician certification must be refreshed within timelines and certification must have current status.
- Attend and actively participate in all scheduled meetings.
- Check, and respond to emails daily to maintain proper communication
- Staff will be required to utilize agency electronic systems for communication, time and attendance, progress notes, incident report filing, etc.
- All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education:
A bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Psychology, Special Education, Human Services or related field preferred
Training and Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Preferred DDA core competencies, Mandt Systems Training, CPR / First Aid, MTTP
Physical Requirements:
Person must be able to walk, stand, and sit for up to 8 hours. Person must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more based on assigned supported person (using health and safety lifting / turning techniques or assistive devices).
Person must be able to successfully demonstrate all Mandt Systems training physical interventions and techniques, to include assisting supported person to standing, providing assistance with ambulation, physical releases, and physical restraints.
