Position Overview


The Assistant Sales Manager is pivotal in driving membership growth and fostering a high-performance sales culture. Reporting to the Club Manager/ Owner, this person will lead sales initiatives, coach the sales team and outreach team, and execute promotional strategies to attract and retain members.


Key Responsibilities


  • Membership Sales Leadership: Motivate and oversee sales staff, set targets, approve offers, and track performance metrics.

  • Sales Strategy & Promotion: Help design and deploy sales campaigns, promotional events, and community outreach efforts.

  • Member Engagement & Retention: Ensure prospective members feel welcome—conduct tours, address inquiries, and close sales. Support retention through targeted follow-up and personalized engagement.

  • Training & Development: Mentor and train team members on sales techniques, CRM tools, and member-conversion best practices.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Maintain sales dashboards, analyze trends, and recommend strategic adjustments based on data.

  • Operations Support: Assist with administrative tasks like scheduling, inventory, budgeting, and opening/closing routines, as needed.

Qualifications


  • 2+ years in a supervisory or management role—ideally within fitness.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven sales track record with goal-setting, CRM usage, and performance analysis.

  • Passion for fitness and a good understanding of gym dynamics.

  • Optional bonus: experience with gym management software.
