Assistant Sheet Metal Riding Superintendent
Location: Memphis, TN Pay Range: $39-$44 per hour, depending on experience
Work Hours: 40+ hours per week, with overtime as required
Mechanical Systems Company, a trusted mechanical and plumbing contractor serving commercial and industrial clients in Memphis, TN, is seeking an experienced Assistant Sheet Metal Riding Superintendent to support field operations and uphold our commitment to safety, quality, and project excellence.
Position Summary: support field operations by supervising sheet metal crews, coordinating construction activities, and helping ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to company and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites
- Assist in supervising sheet metal crews across multiple projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities and manpower needs
- Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications
- Assist with material planning, procurement, and tool management
- Maintain daily reports, documentation, and project updates
- Support scheduling, pre-planning, and fabrication coordination
- Monitor subcontractors and overall jobsite progress
- Communicate effectively with project managers, field teams, customers, and other stakeholders
- Mentor and support sheet metal mechanics and apprentices
- Help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in ductwork or commercial HVAC sheet metal installation experience
- Proven experience supervising teams on construction job sites
- Experience working on large-scale commercial and industrial projects
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Strong knowledge of local codes, tools, and sheet metal systems
- Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Procore experience preferred
- Ability to plan manpower, coordinate field activities, and manage multiple priorities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work in active construction environments, including varying weather and jobsite conditions
