The Assistant Manager must follow standard operating policies and procedures and act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Store Manager.Driving ResultsCoach and demonstrate WSS business objectives: Customer Service Focus, Greeting the Customer, Knowing the Business, Proper Pricing, Having Product Availability, Asset Protection, Ensuring Safety, Maintaining the Exterior of the Store, Cashwrap, and Back Office.Continuously motivate team members to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of merchandise and ensure team members are fluent in all aspects of product knowledge.Provide sales leadership on the sales floor by actively engaging customers.Collaborate with other management members to identify opportunities to support sales.Analyze reports and data to determine business needs and collaborate with the Store Manager to set strategies.Lead the team to greet every customer, create connections, and build loyalty.Effectively handle customer issues and continually improve overall customer satisfaction.Operational ExcellenceMaintain a clean, neat, and organized store by directing team members to complete tasks on the sales floor, parking lot, and back office.Monitor and verify incoming and outgoing product deliveries.Ensure cash handling procedures are properly followed, including cash drops, bank deposits, and bank runs.Assist in staffing and scheduling to maintain adequate floor coverage while managing payroll budget.Educate team on and enforce all relevant personnel policies, labor laws, and security and safety procedures.Assist in controlling store expenses and maintaining budgets while maximizing profitability.Developing World Class TeamsAssist with recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new team members.Train, coach, and develop team members in all areas of the business.Hold team accountable for performance; provide coaching and consult with the Store Manager for counseling.Communicate store goals during team rallies and recognize positive performance through the YouAreWSS Recognition Program.Physical DemandsBend, twist at the waist, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, kneel, or squat while maneuvering boxes as needed.Stand or walk at least eight hours each day.L lift up to 50 lbs. from ground level to above shoulders repeatedly during shift.Climb a step stool or ladder.Communicate effectively in person and on the phone.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkExcellent communication skills to connect with customers and co‑workers.Model team values that support core values and company culture.Excellent leadership, organizational, and time‑management skills.Self‑starter attitude.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and time‑keeping systems.Ability to understand financial reports.Ability to analyze problems and provide practical solutions.Basic math skills required to operate the register, make change, count inventory, and complete daily MOD tools.Ability to stand or walk for approximately eight to ten hours per day.Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.Recognize strategic opportunities and implement behaviors that increase KPIs.Coach, challenge, and develop a team to grow professionally and achieve common goals.Available approximately 40 hours per week; able to work flexible hours, including weekends, inventory nights, and holidays as needed.Available to relocate within a 25‑mile radius based on business needs.Required Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma; some college preferred.High school diploma with at least three years of retail management experience preferred.Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS, and time‑keeping systems; ability to understand financial reports and analyze problems.Proven track record in customer service and team development.Self‑starter able to identify strategic opportunities to increase KPIs and coach team effectively.Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, and occasional overnight shifts.Ability to work within a 25‑mile radius.WSS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
