Position Overview
We are currently seeking an
Assistant Retail Manager to join the leadership team at
Deal Depot in Newington, CT.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership position responsible for supporting the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, supervising employees, maintaining a positive customer experience, and helping drive overall store performance.
Open availability is a requirement for this position. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the store, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with overseeing daily store operations and maintaining an efficient, productive environment
- Supervise, support, and motivate retail employees
- Help drive sales and overall store performance
- Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction
- Support inventory accuracy, stocking, and merchandise organization
- Execute merchandising plans to improve product visibility and sales
- Train, coach, and mentor team members
- Monitor employee performance and help address areas for improvement
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual standards
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operational needs
- Lead by example and step in wherever needed to support the team
Qualifications
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience
- Open availability, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service and sales experience
- Ability to motivate employees and help drive store performance
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-traffic retail environment
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Team-player mentality — no job is too big or too small
Preferred:
- Experience with merchandising, inventory control, or retail operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field
- Bilingual proficiency
