Job Description

We are hiring Assistant Store Managers for our client, an emerging lifestyle brand centered around joyful experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with a fun, community-centric brand as they host an NYC pop-up.

This is a full-time, temporary assignment (40+ hours/week)
Pop-up Dates: August 24. 2026-November 1, 2026 (Must be available)

Responsibilities

Be Welcoming
 
  • Delivers an inviting, inclusive, and energetic experience for all customers
  • Acts as an ambassador for the brand; ensures that company values guide all interactions
  • Invites customers to engage with product and maintains comprehensive knowledge of the product assortment
  • Handles customer situations with patience and kindness; knows when to escalate a scenario to leadership
  • Shares customer feedback with leadership to improve the overall customer experience
  • Maintains a positive attitude throughout busy, high-traffic times
Staff Scheduling, Training & Management
 
  • Partner with Retail Manager to design and schedule shifts; ensure that all shifts have sufficient coverage
  • Maintain ongoing communications with the Emerging Blue; report back to General Manager as needed
  • Anticipate and staff for times of high traffic; reduce staff headcount as appropriate
  • Ensure staff breaks and lunches are taken at appropriate times in accordance with local employment law
  • Help lead and manage staff training session(s) with GM.
  • Hold staff accountable to brand standards across timeliness, uniforms, customer interactions, product knowledge, shift duties, etc.
  • Escalate any customer or staff issues to leadership
  • Ensure proper tracking of any loss; train staff on loss prevention practices
  • Ensure staff safety
Onsite Organization, Visual Merchandising, Replenishment & Inventory Management
 
  • Partner with GM on schedule and staffing plans for receipt of inventory
  • Ensure proper tracking of display items & testers
  • Support ongoing visual merchandising
  • Ensure back of house organization and cleanliness; hold staff accountable for daily cleaning practices outlined in closing duties
  • Coordinate with GM on back of house supplies
  • Report to team on inventory levels; inform and recommend on replenishment as needed
  • Coordinate with appropriate contact on staffing and scheduling for ongoing inventory replenishment
Qualifications
 
  • 2+ years’ retail leadership/management experience is preferred; experience with visual merchandising a plus
  • Effective communication skills and a positive outlook
  • Adaptable, team-player, and compassionate
  • A flexible work schedule (ability to work weekends and nights)
  • Ability to move medium to large items weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to climb a small ladder or step stool
  • Apparel and/or beauty experience is a plus! 

Hourly Range: $26-$28/hr.
