Ready for a hands-on role that keeps operations running smoothly behind the scenes? Multiple departments are looking for safety-conscious and detail-oriented Assistant Storekeepers! This role involves assisting with receiving, storing, delivering, and issuing supplies, tools, equipment, and spare parts, maintaining daily stock records, and supporting the handling of janitorial and recreational items at a storeroom.

What You Will Do

Pull, load, and deliver supplies daily to fill requested orders and transport janitorial and recreational materials to departmental sites island-wide.

Receive and stock materials and supplies by verifying deliveries for accuracy, signing delivery documents, and storing items in designated locations.

Maintain computerized inventory records by entering receipts and issues in Synergen, monitoring minimum stock levels, and preparing daily supply reports.

Initiate purchasing and reconcile transactions by using a p-card, resolving shipment discrepancies with vendors, and completing weekly and monthly reconciliations.

Operate warehouse equipment safely including hand trucks, forklifts, and related equipment to move bulk materials and receive vendor deliveries.

Assist with overall storeroom operations by conducting physical inventories, inspecting tools and equipment, performing minor repairs, completing clerical tasks, and maintaining clean work areas.

Perform other related duties as required.

Special Working Conditions

Work schedule is Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m., with hours varying depending on the vacancy.

Will serve as Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies.

Current Vacancies

There is one (1) full-time, permanent vacancy with the Department of Environmental Services (ENV), Collection System Maintenance Division, located in Aiea. Salary for the ENV position is at the entry rate of $3,266 per month.

There is one (1) full-time, permanent vacancy with the Department of Parks & Recreation (DPR), Administration Division, located in Pearl City. Salary for the DPR position is commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval, and ranges from $3,266 to $3,975 per month.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from high school. Responsible work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Two (2) years of clerical experience, one (1) of which must have been in computerized storekeeping work.

Must be able to:

  • Understand and apply basic principles and practices of storekeeping;
  • Follow purchasing rules and regulations;
  • Inspect supplies and materials to determine operational condition;
  • Accurately complete clerical and recordkeeping tasks;
  • Perform simple arithmetic calculations;
  • Work effectively and cooperatively with others.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: At Time of Application: Valid drivers license (Type 3/automobile), as required. Prior to Completion of Probation: Valid Forklift Certification (Class V).
