Assistant Superintendent - Columbia - Higher Education

We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field operations on a large-scale commercial construction project based in Orangeburg, SC, reporting through the Charlotte office. Description

• • Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day field operations on a large commercial construction project.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site activities to help maintain project schedule and productivity.
  • Monitor jobsite safety and support compliance with company and project safety standards.
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to project leadership.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
  • Support quality control efforts to ensure work is completed according to project specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to planning and coordination activities.
  • Help maintain project documentation, reports, and field records.
  • Work closely with a large project team in a fast-paced construction environment.

Profile

Required Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or in a closely related field role.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within large project teams.
• Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills.
• Interest in building a long-term career in commercial construction.

• Previous experience on higher education construction projects.
• Multifamily construction experience.
• Experience as a Field Engineer with responsibilities aligned to field operations and coordination.
• Exposure to large-scale commercial construction projects.
