Description

The Assistant Superintendent - Education & Commercial Projects - Columbia/Orangeburg will be responsible for:

• • Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day management of construction site activities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules.
  • Monitor work progress and help ensure quality standards are consistently met.
  • Support jobsite safety initiatives and promote compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and coordination meetings.
  • Track and communicate project updates, issues, and milestones to the project team.
  • Help maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and field records.
  • Identify and assist in resolving field-related challenges to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and labor resources are available as needed on site.

Profile

The Assistant Superintendent - Education & Commercial Projects - Columbia/Orangeburg will have:

• • Experience in commercial construction, preferably in a field leadership capacity.
  • Understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and jobsite coordination.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with construction management technology and project documentation tools is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional construction-related education is a plus.

Requirements 5+ years of construction Project Manager experience with a general contractor is required Experience on ground-up education, healthcare, and/or commercial construction projects is required Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or relevant degree preferred Applicable Project Management Software experience preferred Developed thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project success Maintains good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with anyone from clients to subcontractors Must be a business-oriented person and act professionally when representing the employer at any level Local to Charlotte preferred, though relocators will be considered
