A nationally recognized and award-winning general contractor with a long-standing reputation in multifamily, student housing, and senior living construction is seeking a motivated Assistant Superintendent to join its team in the Northern Virginia (NoVA) area. This position is ideal for early-career professionals-particularly those in their second post-graduation role-who are eager to gain hands-on field experience and grow into a leadership position within one of the most respected builders in the industry. Candidates with multifamily experience are strongly preferred, but those coming from commercial construction backgrounds will also be considered.

Description

The Assistant Superintendent - Multifamily - NoVa will be responsible for:

• Support the Superintendent in managing on-site construction activities, including subcontractor coordination, daily field operations, and project schedule adherence
• Monitor job site safety, cleanliness, and quality control
• Assist in maintaining project documentation including daily logs, inspections, and field reports
• Help oversee site logistics, deliveries, and material storage
• Communicate effectively with project managers, trade partners, and suppliers to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines
• Participate in site walks, inspections, and punch list processes

Profile

The Assistant Superintendent - Multifamily - NoVa will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 2-4 years of construction experience; multifamily strongly preferred but not required
• Working knowledge of construction processes, trades coordination, and job site safety practices
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• A strong desire to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in field operations
• Comfortable working in fast-paced job site environments throughout the DMV area

Job Offer

• Competitive base salary of $85,000 - $115,000 depending on experience
