Pay: $19–$21 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Assistant Teacher – Early Childhood Education
The Learning Experience – Bushwick is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to support our Preppers (Twos) classroom. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys helping young children develop confidence, communication skills, and independence while working alongside an experienced Lead Teacher.
You'll help create a safe, engaging classroom where children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships during one of the most exciting stages of early childhood development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines for 2-year-old children
- Support engaging, developmentally appropriate learning activities using the L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Encourage children's language, social-emotional, and cognitive development
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom
- Assist with meals, toileting, transitions, and outdoor play
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
- Support classroom preparation and daily lesson implementation
- Follow all New York State and NYC health, safety, and licensing requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Previous childcare or preschool experience preferred
- Passion for working with young children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, nurturing, and professional approach
- Must meet all New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
