Assistant Teacher (Early Childhood Education)

Location: The Learning Experience- Upper West Side, New York, NY

Pay: $18-$20 per hour

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Assistant Teacher- Infant, Toddler, or Preschool Classrooms

The Learning Experience- Upper West Side is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a structured, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and being part of a collaborative early childhood education team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily classroom routines across multiple age groups
• Support developmentally appropriate learning activities and classroom engagement
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers
• Prepare classroom materials and support group activities
• Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members
• Follow all New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Prior childcare or preschool experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children
• Must meet New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
