Who You'll Interact With

As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work closely with:

  • Children and families
  • Lead Teachers and classroom staff
  • School Directors and management
  • COA support teams

You'll be an important part of creating a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment where children can learn, explore, and thrive.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, structured, and engaging classroom
  • Help provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children
  • Communicate professionally with parents, children, and team members
  • Assist with documenting children's development and progress
  • Utilize technology to support classroom documentation and child progress reports
  • Respond to children's emotions and individual needs with patience and empathy
  • Help establish age-appropriate classroom expectations and routines
  • Participate in classroom activities, transitions, meals, and daily routines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Be creative, enthusiastic, and engaged in your work
  • Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and school leadership
  • Follow COA policies and applicable state licensing requirements
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow into a Lead Teacher role

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills

  • Ability to meet applicable state licensing requirements

Compensation

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Final compensation will be based on experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or other benefits.
