Assistant Teacher (Special Education 3) - Early Childhood Academy (2026-2027 school year)

This posting is for an Assistant Teacher (Special Education), at the Early Childhood Academy for the 2026-2027 School Year.

This position is in the Pay Grade 3 category.

Primary Purpose:

Help special education teacher provide for physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom, including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs. Work under general supervision of principal and immediate direction of certified teacher.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

• Minimum of 48 college hours required
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate (the District will assist the employee in obtaining the certificate)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to work with children with disabilities
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Knowledge of general office equipment
