Roosevelt Universitys College of Science, Health and Pharmacy seeks to fill a full-time, renewable, non tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2026.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide in-person lecture and laboratory instruction in Chemistry courses for health science, biology, biochemistry and biotechnology majors and graduate students. Class assignments may include both day and evening courses. Additional responsibilities include student

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Providing exceptional classroom and laboratory instruction in select courses in chemistry.
  • Incorporating evidence-based teaching methods that enhance learning outcomes for a diverse population of students.
  • Serving as a resource for students as they navigate relevant degrees and majors.
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and monitoring of practices that promote safe and inclusive learning environments.
  • Collaborating on the review and improvement of course materials, teaching methodologies, and assessment methods.
  • Engaging in scholarly and/or professional development activities that inform teaching and pedagogy.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Masters degree in biological science, biomedical science, chemical science, biochemistry, science education, or related field
  • Documented successful college teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in chemistry, biochemistry, science education, or related field
  • Experience using inclusive teaching methods to support student learning inside and outside of the classroom
  • Experience in incorporating demonstrations and technology into teaching, including the use of tools such as open educational resources, online homework systems and course management software
  • Experience in curriculum design and assessment, including using assessment results to improve course content and student learning outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability in laboratory instrument operation and maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students in a range of majors and programs
