We achieve this by staying focused on providing safe efficient and reliable transportation to customers ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance throughout our organization with a goal of zero incidents and zero spills or releases to the environment maximizing long term value for shareholders and stakeholders and creating a safe and rewarding work environment for our employees.Purpose of the PositionAssist Fleet Managers Deputy Fleet Manager and Superintendents in supporting the repair maintenance and operation of ATC vessels.Core Job Functions Assure vessel compliance to OSG Safety Quality and Environmental SQE PolicyAssist in the Supervising of maintenance and repair to optimize vessel availability while protecting asset valueLogistical support of vendor repairsAssist in creating and monitoring vessel operating budgetsSupport shore side operations department in repair and maintenance for vessels including routine voyage repairs regulatory surveys dry docking shipyard events emergencies casualties and modifications. Extensive shipyard attendance requiredAttend vessels on regular basis to assure crew compliance to OSG SQE program and to verify vessel maintenance and asset preservationAssist in maintaining technical files including service report machinery history and regulatory required documentationAssist in monitoring maintenance budget including routine and major maintenance as well as engine consumablesMonitor and assure maintenance software NS5 is utilized properly verifying repairs and maintenance are properly reported and standard jobs are followedParticipate in office and shipboard ISM auditsAssist in tracking and responding to SQE SDRs when associated with technical issuesAssist in the tracking and approval of engine spares and stores requirementsAssist Technical Superintendent or other engineering personnel in technical matters relating to the proper functioning of the technical staffRepresent OSG in a professional manner to provide efficient and economic service to all customersCore Competencies Bachelors degree in marine field Maritime Academy graduate preferred or five years equivalent experience requiredKnowledge of ABS NS5 or similar software helpfulKnowledge and understanding of American Bureau of Shipping United States Coast Guard and international regulations and protocols relating to company vessels requiredUnited State Coast Guard license of Second Assistant or higher preferredStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products requiredSignificant FactorsWritten and verbal communications at all organizational levels in a clear and concise mannerStrong ability to manage multiple tasks requiring solid planning control review and cost projectionvariance analysis skillsHighly developed prioritization and organizational skills and attention to detailHigh level of analytical skill and process management abilityAbility to drive long distances up to 5 hours andor travel by air to various US ports possibly requiring overnight staysAbility to board vessels in port requires using a gangway with a grade of 30-60 degreesAbility to climb ladders and navigate over uneven surfaces during vessel visits Ability to board vessels at anchor climb a Jacobs ladder from a water taxi Possess good sensory perception sight smell hearing touch Ability to enter and inspect confined spacesWillingness to remain accessible for communication and consultation on an around the clock basis and work unusual hours including nights and weekends as requiredOSG is an equal opportunity at will employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age race religion color disability sex sexual orientation or national origin.<-- Simple Share Buttons Adder 7.4.17 simplesharebuttons.com -->TwitterLinkedinFacebookGooglePinterestemail <-- post-content --> Your browser failed to load the job description PDF in iframe.
