Summary:
This position assist with coaching duties, operating under NCAA bylaws. Assist the head tennis coach with recruitment and training for athletic competition, and participate in the overall coordination of the program, as appropriate.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist head tennis coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
- Assist in the identification and recruitment of potential student-athletes for the tennis program, in accordance with and NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to student-athletes within the tennis program.
- Delegate and multi-task responsibilities that is assigned by the head tennis coach.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):
- Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- At least 1 to 3 years of coaching experience in high school or collegiate level.
- Must be able to travel for recruitment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable team or individual sports and playing rules.
- Knowledge of NCAA student-athlete academic eligibility requirements.
- Knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules.
- Knowledge of travel/lodging planning and scheduling.
- Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Demonstrated competitive coaching skills in area of sporting specialty.
- Organizing and coordinating skills.
