Mountainside School District Beechwood School, 1497 Woodacres Drive, Mountainside, New Jersey 07092 Deerfield School, 302 Central Avenue, Mountainside, New Jersey 07092 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR Posting Date - July 8, 2026 Position: Assistant to the School Business Administrator Full-Time, 12 month position Start Date: September 1, 2026 Job Description & Qualifications: Understanding of principles and practices of financial accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code and GAAP requirements Knowledge of accepted business practices, laws and regulations governing school districts related to budget preparation and administration, risk management, purchasing, transportation, food services, school plant operations and facility planning 3-5 Years of Bookkeeping Experience Strong and professional interpersonal and communication skills High School Diploma, Associates Degree in Accounting (Preferred) Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 1. Responsible for all duties related to payroll management 2. Responsible for all duties related to accounts payable 3. Assists in keeping accurate and detailed accounts of all financial transactions as prescribed by statute, administrative code and board policy. 4. Assists the School Business Administrator in auditing claims, invoices and demands against the board, and verifying goods and services have been received. 5. Assists the School Business Administrator in collecting tuition fees, food service deposits and student activity deposits due to the board. 6. Assists in procurement of supplies & equipment for the district in accordance with law & board policies. 7. Prepares monthly bank reconciliations for payroll agency and student activity account. 8. Manages district payroll & ensures proper maintenance of records related to auditing requirements & tax laws. 9. Coordinates with CDK the processing of annual ACA, W-2 and1099 tax forms. 10. Assists with annual OSHA report and quarterly IROC pension reports. 11. Assists School Business Administrator in preparation of the annual school budget and helps with the administration of all phases of the budget throughout the year. 12. Assists the School Business Administrator in keeping records of the investment of board funds in accordance with statute and board policy 13. Helps to maintain required reports as required. 14. Adheres to and upholds school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies. 15. Follows directions and completes other duties as assigned by the School Business Administrator. Salary: Competitive salary range $55,0 00-$62,000 based on years of experience in the same or similar position; family benefits package and NJPERS pension.
