EFFINGHAM, ILLINOIS

Posting of Vacancy

for

Assistant Transportation Director

10 Month Position, Full-Time (8 hr./day - Monday-Friday)

Health Insurance, Life Insurance, IMRF Retirement, Sick leave, Personal days

Salary to be determined by experience

Reports to: Transportation Director

Start Date: September 15, 2026

Deadline to apply: September 4, 2026

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate
• CDL w/School Bus License
• Experience driving a bus preferred
• Possess and/or be willing to earn a current State of Illinois commercial driver's license and school bus permit
• Experience in routing preferred
• Supervision experience preferred
• General knowledge of school buses and related equipment
• Leadership qualities
• Demonstrated abilities in interviewing, employing, and evaluating personnel
• Knowledge of Effingham School District #40 road system
• Pass Background Check

Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 Based on Experience
