Assistant Unit Manager (LPN)

Our organization is in search of a committed and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to become part of our leadership team as an Assistant Unit Manager. This full-time position is perfect for an enthusiastic nursing professional who possesses strong clinical judgment, leadership skills, and exceptional interpersonal abilities.

Position Overview:

The Assistant Unit Manager plays a vital role in supporting the daily clinical operations within the nursing department. This position collaborates closely with unit leadership to guarantee high-quality resident care while adhering to all relevant regulations and facility policies. Responsibilities include coordinating nursing services, supervising support staff, and fostering a nurturing and compassionate atmosphere for both residents and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing and coordinating daily functions of the nursing unit
  • Monitor residents' health conditions and accurately document health information
  • Administer medications, treatments, and care as prescribed by physicians
  • Facilitate admissions and collect essential resident information
  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical or mental health
  • Provide wound care and other necessary nursing treatments
  • Promote resident comfort, dignity, and assist with personal hygiene
  • Supervise and mentor CNAs and other nursing support staff as needed
  • Ensure compliance with facility procedures, standards, and state regulations
  • Monitor residents’ nutritional intake, output, and vital signs

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license in good standing
  • Preferred experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Basic computer skills are preferred
