The office seeks to maintain the highest standards of excellence in the enforcement of federal laws and the representation of the United States.ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant United States Attorney will handle a diverse caseload, conduct trials and appeals, and work within the Criminal Division to prosecute federal criminal cases and prepare appeals. Responsibilities increase and assignments become more complex as training and experience progress.QualificationsJ.D. degree and active membership in any U.S. bar.United States citizenship.Criminal prosecution experience and proven ability to handle federal criminal litigation.Strong analytical, oral and written communication, research, and interpersonal skills.Ability to function with minimal guidance in a demanding environment.Commitment to public service, professionalism, ethics, and justice.Conditions of EmploymentYou must be a United States Citizen or National.Initial appointment conditioned upon satisfactory preemployment adjudication (fingerprint, credit, tax checks, and drug testing).
